How do you attack someone stood on a non-combatant?

As title.
The cursor locks onto the non-combatant rather than the other person.

You either use the arrow keys on the numeric pad, or you take a five foot step away and wait for them to come. I will try to get it to lock on the combatant rather than the non-combatant.

Ah yes, I forgot you could walk usnig the keys during combat. I usually use that for otu of combat. For now I'm sure that'll do

ps: Why not hide the non combatants, in the same way that you hide loot, when battle starts? It's not as if you can hurt them/they have any effect.
