i chose 2nd edition because its the most familiar ruleset to me, altho to me the setting is more important, one of the things that attracted me to TOEE was the Greyhawk setting.

I agree that the campaign setting is important too.

I voted 3.5. I like the 3.5 combat rules like Ready versus, Charge and Attack of Opportunity, the feats (Whirlwind attack, metamagic feats). Base attack also seems more straightforward than To-Hit-Armor-Class-0.

In the 2nd edition I like the fact that each monster represents a certain amount of experience points (not depending on level) and that a spellcaster just can't cast on a given round, if he's taken damage. Much simpler than concentration checks.

in my opinion 2nd edition is great for PnP games because its quick easy but you can add depth to it with proficiencys etc, 3.5 is great for cRPG's because the variety of feats is much easier to use with the computer doing the modifications for you and a LOT quicker.
