Inactive Characters

Greetings, all!

After hearing from Sal that KotC2 is scheduled to have an option to toggle characters between active and inactive. Active characters gain EXP and participate in fights while inactives don't. This leads to these questions:

-Since there's no upper limit on party size, what in-game deterrents are there against making tens or hundreds of storage characters? (This assumes each character has a separate inventory.)

-If the party wipes but has at least 1 inactive character, can we immediately switch this inactive character to active and continue or restart the fight? This matters mostly for Ironman games.

-Do inactive characters still get quest EXP? If so, is it split amongst all inactive characters?

You can only create characters at the beginning of a module and there is a limit on how many characters you can create. Once you are playing the module you cannot create new characters, you can only have specific recruitable companions join the party.

-If the party wipes but has at least 1 inactive character, can we immediately switch this inactive character to active and continue or restart the fight? This matters mostly for Ironman games.
When all of your active party members are knocked out, you lose the game.

-Do inactive characters still get quest EXP? If so, is it split amongst all inactive characters?
Only the active characters receive Quest experience points and Combat experience-point awards.
