Hello everybody,

I am in the underground area after you flee the starting village, where you find Erzimon locked up behind bars, being held captive by the blue Goblins and for the life of me I can't find any way to free him.
I have slaughtered all the Goblins but no key on them to unlock the cell with. No other item from my inventory will be accepted either, like the thieves' tools. I have seen in Youtube videos, that the cell can be opened with a strength check, but this option does not even show up in my dialog options. Has this been removed in a patch or is this a bug?
I can't even give the poor guy some food or drink, although I have both in my inventory.
Have already been to the crypt and to the hot area above, and then farther until you meet the three witches, but no luck finding something there either.

Any suggestions?

If you are allied with the grey goblins after the big goblin fight, you can buy from one of the grey goblin merchants

- a special bread (="quest item") for feeding Erzimon, so that he will speak to you (important - it makes the rescue options visible)
and
- a special wine for his guard (to make the guard drunk) (not necessary for the rescue, there are other options possible).


I don't know, if the green goblins merchants sell something similar or if you can loot the item from the grey goblins corpses -
but if not - then you have probably found a bug! Congratulations !

Note - you don't even have to go through the big goblin fight. Before the fight, if you brought back a special quest item that was requested from the crypt and give it to the grey goblin gate-keeper, the grey goblins will grant you entry and trade with you, at which point you can buy a special quest-food (I think it's called something like 'food and water') from an elder that you can feed the guy, which unlocks the dialogue for rescuing him. In both my runs, I did all this *before* the big goblin fight, so I don't know if the elder drops the special quest-food upon being killed or not. If not, then I think you'll have locked yourself out of rescuing him, unfortunately - not a bug, but probably an oversight.

Not sure if anything needs to be changed here.

Normally, you can only free Erzimon while you're able to talk to the Grey Goblins in their lair. Because if you defeat them in the Goblin Arena, the survivors block the entrance.

I've just tested it and it says "After their crushing defeat in the Arena, the Grey Goblins sealed off this gate, making it impossible for the party to access this part of the sewers."

Yes, I already know and got Erzimon out after I restarted the game.

As much as I like the game, I have to say, the restrictions for dealing with situations like this are just silly at times.

Now I am gnashing my teeth because I don't have enough magic diamonds left to add Asharzaelle to my party. It's crazy how situations you couldn't possibly forsee can bite you in the arse in KOTC2. I guess I just play something else while waiting for a savegame editor to come out. I really want to have that lady in my party.

You can edit your saved game in the Module Editor:

1) Launch the Module Editor
2) Select Augury of Chaos
3) Push V to open the Creature Editor
4) Click on 'Load Creature File'
5) Click on the Parent Directory button and navigate to the Saves folder
6) Within the Saves folder double click on the number of your saved game
7) Double click on SaveChar.cml
8) Double click on one of your characters
9) Click the Equipment tab
10) In the Search box besides 'Item Editor' type 'fire diamond'
11) In the box above the Search box, click and drag the line 'fire diamond' to one of the backpack slots
12) Click okay
13) Click 'Save Creature File'
14) Click on the Parent Directory button and navigate to the Saves folder
15) Within the Saves folder double click on the number of your saved game
16) Double click on SaveChar.cml to overwrite your file
17) Push Escape several times to leave the Module Editor

You now have a Fire Diamond in your saved game.

Whatever, there is still that freshly installed Half-Life Mod I wanted to try.

This recent update (1.40?) seems to have fixed it. Awesome!
